Billy Porter shuts down speculation he was giving RuPaul 'side-eye' at the Emmys
In an Emmys backstage press conference a reporter asked Billy about a viral gif of the actor on Twitter in which he seemed to be giving RuPaul the 'side-eye'.
He initially responded saying he hadn't yet seen the gift, before adding 'there's never a side-eye coming from me.'
'There's never anything negative coming from me, you're never going to get it from me,' he said. 'It's all love, it's all light, it's all positivity, don't come to me with that mess.
'Don't. It's never that. Never, ever, ever, ever.'

He then spoke about how easy it is for moments to be misinterpreted in the media, before talking about his deep friendship and admiration for the RuPaul's drag race star.
'You know they [the press] can catch you in some sort of way, you know what I mean, and it can look like a side-eye.'
'RuPaul is a friend of mine, I am so proud of him, I stand on his shoulders,' he said. 'He is doing it, he paved the way for me, so there's never a side-eye about that.
The 50-year-old star of Ryan Murphy's hit show Pose literally danced for joy while making his way up to the stage to collect his award.
Pose spotlights New York City's ballroom culture scene in the 80s and 90s, featuring groundbreaking LGBTQ+ representation.
Channeling his Pose character, Pray Tell started his speech with a bang: 'The category is: Love!' Billy then quoted novelist James Baldwin: 'It took many years of vomiting up all the filth I'd been taught about myself, and half-believed, before I was able to walk on the earth as though I had a right to be here.'
He went on to thank a whole host of people who helped him get to where he is today, including his manager of 29 years, mother, sister, husband, FX, his fellow Pose cast and the show's creator Ryan Murphy.
He then added: 'We as the artists are the people that can change the molecular structure of the hearts and minds of the people who live on this planet. Please don't ever stop doing that. Please don't ever stop telling the truth!'
Billy's idol RuPaul was also well recognised on the night, winning the Emmy for Best Reality Competition Programme honour for 'Drag Race'.
The reality TV host turned his time on stage into a political moment urging people to 'register to vote'.
Taking to the stage at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theatre, RuPaul said: 'We are so proud of this show and we are so happy for all the gorgeous kids who come on and show how fabulous they are. 'Thanks to the Academy for voting for us. Speaking of voting and love, go and register to vote!'
